Crawlers spawn in poorly-lit areas and at night. They move continuously along a surface, scaling walls and even clinging to ceilings. They cease to move in bright light (torches, daylight, outpost fluorescent lights). As a result, large groups may get stuck on doors and entrances, were light levels change. Coming into contact with a crawler will cause damage to players. If a crawler is damaged, it will lose grip on walls or ceilings and be stunned momentarily. They may drop Crawler Spines, which can be used as makeshift crossbow bolts.
